On January 25th, 2014, Team HOPE participated in the annual Walk for Memories in support of the Alzheimer Society of Toronto, who is also one of HOPE’s charity fund recipients for 2014.  When we arrived at the starting point in the beautiful atrium of Brookfield Place, we were surprised to see some “celebrities” including Darth Vader and a group of Storm Troopers mingling around the crowd.  I couldn’t help myself and had to snap a picture.  The 40-minute walk itself through the underground PATH system was fun with a few musical entertainment stops along the way and many volunteer cheerleaders keeping the energy level high.  I enjoyed the casual walk and opportunity to chat and catch up with friends.  It was a really fun way to show support and bring awareness to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto’s programs and services.

Team HOPE dedicates our participation in the Walk for Memories in memory of Leonard Lee, who very recently passed away. Leonard is the father of HOPE’s long time member and current Executive Director, Marcia, and Cheryl, a regular volunteer and former Executive.  May you rest in peace.
